Hello I am having white/yellow colored genital discharge following itching I have noticed red colored area which bleeds on applying pressure. I broke up with my partner 5 months back and havent had any physical contact with others. Should i get tested for herpes or other stds?

  Yes, you should get tested. Some STD's have a latent period before symptoms show up. Herpes isn't, usually, life threatening, but there are other STD's that are and can spread throughout the body. If you don't have insurance look to a local University medical center or low income community medical center because both often have fees that are sliding scale/based on income.
